Nickel jobs

Nickel is mined from laterite (near-surface, often open-pit) or sulphide (typically underground) deposits, then smelted or processed into intermediate products.

Where it's mined: Western Australia, Indonesia (large laterite operations), and the Sudbury basin in Canada are the major producing regions.

Common roles: Underground development and production miners, smelter/refinery operators, and processing plant maintenance trades.
