This Iron Ore role at Fortescue is based in Western Australia, AU, worked FIFO.

Our Opportunity

Work location: Iron Bridge

Roster: 8 days on & 6 days off, FIFO ex Perth or DIDO Port Hedland

An opportunity exists for a Field Technician Experienced to join our Technical Services team at Iron Bridge.

Key Responsibilities

• Blast Hole sampling/logging – program execution, sample submission to laboratory:

• Ensure accurate sampling and clear identification of samples

• Conduct daily pattern inspections and checks of sample drop-off locations

• Carry out weekly stocktakes on consumables and supplies

• Liaise with and maintain strong relationships with other teams

• Assistance to geotechnical engineers may include prism installs, wall Inspections, berm Inspections, crack meter installations, post blast inspections and stock takes.

• Assistance to surveyors may include pegging/flagging, basic GPS jobs, scanning, drone flights and bathymetric surveys.

Qualifications and Experience

• Manual C Class Driver’s License

• 2 yrs experience in open pit mining is advantageous.

• Proactive, highly motivated, and enthusiastic. Willing to take on new challenges, work in a physically demanding job and learn new skills.

• A team player with a ‘can do’ and collaborative attitude.

• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of building strong multi-departmental relationships.

• Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word).

• High attention to detail.
