Surface and underground drilling and blasting crews, one of the more specialised, higher-paid operator categories in mining.

What it involves: Blast-hole drilling to a pattern, explosives handling and charging (for licensed shotfirers), and close coordination with mine planning and geology.

Typical requirements: A shotfirer's licence or explosives-handling certification is required for charging/firing roles specifically; drilling roles alone don't always need it.
