Underground Miner / Development

Development and production roles working underground: driving drives, operating jumbos and loaders, and supporting ground-control and ventilation work.

What it involves: Long-hole and jumbo drilling, charging and firing, mucking with an LHD/loader, and ground support (bolting, meshing), usually rotating through several of these over a roster.

Typical requirements: Underground experience is usually required for production roles; some operations run underground-specific trainee pathways for candidates with surface experience.
